What's On Your Mind?

What's on your mind? Often, we don't know the answer to that question. More often, we only know the big things. We know when we've got a bill we can't pay, we know when there's a crush we can't shake and we know that we're worrying, even if we can't say what we're worried about. The truth of the matter is that there is far more going on in our minds than just those kinds of thoughts. Our senses are acutely aware of sensations that we aren't consciously attuning to all the time.

One way to short-circuit our brain's attempt to keep us pre-occupied is to slow down and notice what we are choosing not to notice. When we do this through intentional, mindful practice, we open up our awareness to the infinite number of experiences that are available at any given moment... and many of those spaces are just under the surface, waiting to be explored. Further, many of these undiscovered landscapes are defined by less suffering, or no suffering at all. Do you know what's on your mind?
