Orientation

Working from an integrated perspective combining Clinical Health Psychology, Contemporary Evidence-Based Treatments, Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Theory and Mindfulness/Meditative approaches to healing, my orientation is a cultivation of overlapping influences that share common themes of understanding human behavior from a multiplicity of sources. Combining empirical and theoretical sources of literature and experiential and phenomenological approaches to knowledge, my goal has been to integrate multiple ways of understanding the human condition while seeking out techniques that promote emotional healing, personal growth and self awareness in an effort to help patients transform.

Grounded in both scholarship and practical clinical training, my psychotherapeutic modality is designed to help you explore the sometimes-tricky and always entrancing experience of navigating the inner life. Utilizing a holistic perspective that attempts to consider the multiple dimensions of living (emotional, cognitive, spiritual, physical), one goal of psychotherapy is to expand your potential to identify and explore the multiple influences that often confound and confuse us and promote better understanding. Healing comes through understanding the relationship we have with those in the world around us, with our own selves and with the world itself. It is here that we begin the journey!

Additionally, my training in Clinical Health Psychology has allowed me the opportunity to study and understand the way people relate to their bodies, to their health and to the healthcare industry. I have extended experience and training in helping people learn to manage chronic medical conditions (including various chronic pain diagnoses), improve their coping resources, reduce the negative impact of health problems on daily living and improve their overall quality of life.
