The Only Way Out, Is In?

When we are suffering, we will do almost anything to make it stop. We act out, we drink, we ruminate, shop and talk... All of these activities will make us feel like we're doing something about our pain but ultimately, they have little effect in freeing us from suffering.

The only way to escape is to stop running from our hurt. When we turn into our pain, sit with it and even meditate on it, we then begin the process of learning that it is not something to fear but it is something we can learn from. When we we tune into our pain, it is no longer our enemy, it is at the very least a worthy adversary and at best, our advocate for continued growth on the journey of life.
